About the Women’s World Match Racing Tour

The Women’s World Match Racing Tour was launched in 2022 to continue the hugely successful legacy of the WIM Series (Women’s International Match Racing Series) providing a global match racing series for female sailors. The name of the WIM Series has been changed and re-launched as the Women’s World Match Racing Tour.

The WIM Series was launched in 2013 by Women’s International Match Racing Association (WIMRA) following the worldwide success of the introduction of women’s match racing in the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The mission of the WIM Series was to expand and strengthen global match racing and promote opportunities for competitive women’s sailing at every level.

The WIM Series delivered a global circuit of fierce competition from 2013-2019 where the world’s best female match racing sailors could compete and thrive. The series delivered over 30 events at host venues around the world, attracted over 500 international women sailors representing all areas of the sport (Olympians, National Champions, World Champions, and Volvo Ocean Race veterans), and crowned 6 Series Champions.

Founded in 1996, WIMRA is a woman-led designated 501c3 organization with a mission to promote women’s sailing, competition, female entrepreneurship, global relations and cultural exchange.

The Women’s World Match Racing Tour will continue to work closely with WIMRA to promote and grow opportunities for women’s sailing and match racing around the world, creating a valuable pathway for aspiring match racers and future world champions.
