From humble beginnings in an Optimist on a small loch in Scotland aged 7, Rebecca ‘Boo’ Coles has been lucky enough to sail across numerous classes at international level, including placing 8th in the 420 worlds in 2019 before transitioning into keelboats where she has enjoyed success within Fast40+, ClubSwan50, Cape31 as both a sailor and a member of the shore crew. While new to skippering in Match Racing, ‘Boo’ has match raced as a bow person or trimmer, winning the UK National Champs in 2019, and representing GBR at 2x Youth Match Racing Worlds and 1x Women’s Match Racing Worlds. Boo’s approach to skippering on the tour is to enjoy the status as ‘new kid on the block’ to gain as much experience as possible and throw in a few surprises where I can.
