LIJIA "LILY" XU
Team Magenta Project is a match racing team set up by double Olympic Medalist Lijia “Lily” Xu from China. Lily’s medals (a bronze and a gold) may have been for singlehanded racing, but she is currently at the beginning stage of building a strong crew list and improving competitiveness with a long range goal on the match racing podium.
Lily is flying the flag as part of The Magenta Project, a non profit that works to create real and lasting opportunities for women to reach the highest levels of competitive sailing and the wider marine industry.
She finds the short and intense format of match racing is so much fun and helps her to become a better keelboat racer as well as getting closer to her future goal of becoming a professional sailor in other big boats racing.
